Begin with a couple of minutes of stillness and silence, to let go of the things on your mind and to become aware of God’s presence.
READ: JEREMIAH 33:3 (GNT)
“Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvellous things that you know nothing about.”
In the past, we may have relied on the voices/words of those around us, as we have made decisions about the direction our journey should take. While this is part of the decision making process, maybe at the beginning of this year, it is time to stop and be still and to listen to the still small voice of God; to get His perspective on the current events and circumstances of our lives and to receive His wisdom and guidance as we move into the New Year.
Choose a word, phrase, or even the whole verse to silently ponder on. Turn it over and over in your mind and see what God will show you through it.
Pray about the insights you have received and thank God for them.
Close with the Lord’s Prayer.
Carry your chosen word/phrase/verse into the day with you and repeat it at intervals during the day.
Make a note of the insights you gained from this verse in your journal.
