Written Reflections

The Lord’s Prayer

This series invites you to reflect on the Lord’s Prayer under the headings of praise, priorities, provision, personal relationships and protection.

The Lord’s Prayer Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever amen. Matthew 6:13

  • Read Psalm 29 out aloud in more than one version.
  • Choose a word or a phrase or a verse to ponder on, for five to ten minutes.
  • What does the Lord want to show you through your chosen verse?
  • Write down your insights in your journal.

Hesychasm is a tradition within the Eastern Church. It refers to the practice of repeating a simple prayer over and over again. The thinking behind this is, that by repeating the prayer, we can focus our thoughts on God so that he can enter our heart.

Use verse 11 from Psalm 29 as hesychastic prayer, for ten minutes a day for the next few days.
