Sea-Salt: Preview - Week 4, Day 2

Day 2: I for Instant

Begin with a couple of minutes of stillness and silence, to let go of the things on your mind and to become aware of God’s presence.

READ Mark 10:52

“On your way,” said Jesus. “Your faith has saved and healed you.” In that very instant he recovered his sight and followed Jesus down the road.

We are familiar with instant coffee, instant mash, instant custard and instant connection to people via our mobile phones and devices. But instant sight is not a phenomenon we see everyday. Have you experienced this in yourself or others?

In 1984 John Wimber and his team came over from America to speak/minister at a conference at Central Hall Westminster. After his first talk John said there was a blind woman in the audience and if she would come up onto the stage he would pray for her. A woman was helped on to the stage and John prayed for her to receive healing ……and she instantly recovered her sight! We were all amazed and there was great rejoicing. That set the tone for the conference and there were many amazing miracles that week. I vividly remember the team praying for a lady in a wheel chair and she stood up and walked, and the next day I saw her running!

Over the ensuing decades I have seen and heard of innumerable instances of God’s healing power, restoring and renewing lives. As you ponder on the verse be open to any areas of your life that God might want to touch with his healing power.

Choose a word, phrase, or even the whole verse to silently ponder on. Turn it over and over in your mind and see what God will show you through it.

PRAY the Lord’s Prayer

Carry your chosen word/phrase/verse into the day with you and repeat it at intervals during the day.

Make a note of the insights you gained from this verse in your journal.
